Ben Franklin, the innovative printer, scientist, postmaster and statesman, formed the original Junto in 1727 along with a diversely-talented group of business-minded tradesmen. They met to develop collaborative approaches to pressing issues of the day, and were continuously striving for mutual self-improvement. Franklin’s innovation with electricity, the postal service, university and fire department were all fueled by the needs of his community. He applied hard work and efficiency (in his words, “industry and frugality”) in establishing these necessities. This is the spirit of our Junto. We are and work with forward-thinking contractors to integrate innovative strategies into a most important issue of our day, sustainable development. In that process, we follow Franklin’s good principles of hard work, efficiency, collaboration and improvement.
